Zinc Chloride is used as a fertilizer that increases protein synthesis and promotes plant growth, and increases the resistance of plants to drought, heat and frost. Zinc deficiency can spoil the expected yields, as almost all plants, especially cereals, are sensitive to it. Deficiency of zinc impairs plant respiration and protein synthesis. It is important that fertilized plants are not sensitive to chlorine to prevent plant chlorosis.

 

It can also be used as herbicide to inhibit the growth of molds and mildews. When Zinc Chloride is added to irrigation water, it helps reduce the amount of salt in the water.
