Sodium Sulfide (Na2S) CAS # 1313-82-2
Sodium Sulfide is used in water treatment as an oxygen scavenger agent and also used as a metal precipitant. It is primarily for its ability to remove heavy metals and other impurities through precipitation reactions. It is used as a pH reducer or acidifier to lower the pH of water or adjust its acidity levels. In the wastewater, the production of active iron hydroxide, using Na2S can be removed in the form of iron sulfide precipitation.
