Calcium Chloride (CaCl2) Molar Mass of 111 g/mol CAS # 10043-52-4
Calcium Chloride/material is another preferred additive for accelerating cement hydration and reducing set time for concrete applications particularly in colder weather. It can enable concrete to be produced faster and allow jobs to be completed as quickly and economically as possible. Concrete mixed with Calcium Chloride has more of a tendency toward future damage than concrete without this chemical. The chloride can cause the mix to shrink as it cures, creating cracks in the surface.
